E-Mail: cursory@gmail.com AIM: CursoryJ Experience: Two mock offseasons at JustBBall boards, one at basketballboards.net, and the NVBA, which just started.
The top 5 players at each position:
C: 1. Shaquille O'Neal 2. Yao Ming 3. Brad Miller 4. Jamal Magloire 5. Zydrunas Ilgauskas
PF: 1. Tim Duncan 2. Kevin Garnett 3. Jermaine O'Neal 4. Dirk Nowitzki 5. Elton Brand
SF: 1. Shawn Marion 2. Andre Kirilenko 3. Paul Pierce 4. Ron Artest 5. Peja Stojakovic
SG: 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Tracy McGrady 3. LeBron James 4. Allen Iverson 5. Ray Allen
PG: 1. Baron Davis 2. Stephon Marbury 3. Steve Francis 4. Tony Parker 5. Sam Cassell
I didn't include Kidd because of his injury. If he was healthy, he'd be number one.
The top 10 players in the league, with explanations for everybody after number five, since they're not as obvious:
1. Tim Duncan 2. Shaquille O'Neal 3. Kobe Bryant 4. Kevin Garnett 5. Tracy McGrady 6. Dirk Nowitzki - Unguardable. 7. Jermaine O'Neal - Doesn't take over games as consistently as Duncan or Garnett, but can still do it. 8. LeBron James - Can beat you in so many ways it boggles the mind. Rebounds and brings it upcourt better than most of his peers. 9. Baron Davis - Better when he's not asked to shoulder the scoring load. Can D up or light it up at any given moment. 10. Shawn Marion - Doesn't take over games, but does everything well.
Favorite Team: Seattle Sonics
The player I'd most like to build around is LeBron James. He's one of the best players in the league at the age of 19, and he displays characteristics comparable to Magic and Michael as far as putting a team on his back and carrying them to a win. He can play three positions on the floor, making him easy to build around, and he's a great teammate as well. His shooting isn't great, but the improvement he has shown already is excellent, and you could say the same thing about his defense. The biggest drawback may be that he's not a power forward or center, so he can't take over a game like a Duncan or O'Neal, but his age makes him too appealing.

E-Mail Address: LAVA612@aol.com AIM Handle: LAVA612 Experience: Nothing in any big successful sims, however lots of experience as an owner and GM in about 15 sims over the past 5 years. Top 5 for Position (Current) C-Shaq / Ben Wallace / Yao / Magloire / Ilgauskas PF-Garnett / Duncan / Jermaine O'Neal / Nowitzki / Brand SF-Kirilenko / Marion / Peja / Ron Artest / Odom SG-Kobe / McGrady / Pierce / Iverson / Michael Redd PG-Jason Kidd / Baron Davis / Marbury / Francis / Cassell
TOP 10 (1 through 10) Kevin Garnett-Kobe Bryant-Andrei Kirilenko-Shaq-Tim Duncan-McGrady-Kidd-Shawn Marion-Ben Wallace-Baron Davis
Favorite Team Minnesota Timberwolves
The Player I'd build around, and why Kevin Garnett. This man is a machine, he is still getting better even after being named MVP, he knows he is the man on his team and he knows he needs to lead. He can play any position you want him to play and he will excel at it. Garnett is like Jason Kidd, he makes the players around him better as well. He is the guy I'd build my team around.

TOP 10 (1 through 10) Kevin Garnett Tim Duncan Kobe Bryant Shaquille O'Neal Jason Kidd Tracy McGrady Paul Pierce Dirk Nowitiski Jermaine O'Neal Allen Iverson
Favorite Team Los Angeles Clippers
The Player I'd build around, and why Kevin Garnett because he makes all the players around him better. Hes a physical specimen at 6'11, with an inside outside game. He delivers his average every game, 20, 10, and 5. Not to mention he is still relatively young. I'd take him first anyday to build around.

My name is Aaron Reilly and my screen name is Strikeoutking44, if I get into the league though I will be using the name BenWallceDetroit3. I have never been in a basketball sim but have been in a few baseball leagues in years past.
The top five players at each position are as follows.... Center 1. Shaq - Unstoppable 2. Ben Wallace - No one changes a game on the defensive end like he does. 3. Yao Ming - A very athletic 7'6" center with a nice touch on his jump shot, has to toughen up though. 4. Brad Miller - Does all the little things, high field goal percentage, almost always good for a double double. 5. Big Z - At 7'3" and playing in the East, he has his way with many of the centers in the league.
Power Forwards 1. Kevin Garnett - Flip a coin between him and Duncan but when it comes down to it KG seems to be the more versatile player. 2. Tim Duncan - Can easily be number one but just misses, best fundamental player in the game. 3. Dirk Nowitzki - Best international player in the game, a great inside/outside player. 4. Amare Stoudemire - Dominating the game at such a young age. Extremely athletic for a player his size. 5. Jermaine O'Neal - May be the best player in the east, great mid range jump shot for a PF
Small Forwards 1. Andrei Kirilenko - May get some for putting him over LeBron but when Kirilenko plays he may be the only player in the league capable of a 5X5 game. 2. LeBron James - Will be the best player in the league within the next few years. 3. Shawn Marion - Can score, rebound, pass, steal, block, and run the floor with anyone. 4. Rashard Lewis - A young stud, with many more years to improve, can shoot the three. 5. Peja Stojakovic - Best shooter in the league.
Shooting Guards 1. Kobe Bryant - Best guard in the game, heck of a defender and his showing his passing game this year. 2. Tracy McGrady - Amazing offensive player, waiting to see his defensive game shine under Van Gundy. 3. Allen Iverson - Can score with the best of them, like to see his fg% come down though. 4. Richard Hamilton - Reggie Miller cloned with the best mid range jumper in the game. 5. Ray Allen - Has elevated his game in his contract year, but has looked amazing thus far.
Point Guard 1. Jason Kidd - When healthy, no one leads their team better, just look at NJ without him. 2. Dwayne Wade - Explosive scorer, seemed to develop a jumper this summer also. 3. Stephon Marbury - Avg 20 points and 8 assists for his career, not many people can say that. 4. Steve Nash - Showing his leadership ability on a young Phoenix team, great passer and ball handler. 5. Chauncey Billups - Great scorer for a point guard, under LB he is really developing into a true point guard.
Top 10 players in the league 1. Kevin Garnett - Best all around player in the game, not many can guard him. 2. Tim Duncan - Like I said before, flip a coin, both amazing players. 3. Shaq - The man is unguardable, a beast in the block. 4. Kobe Bryant - Best SG in the league, really devloping his all around game this year. 5. Ben Wallace - Don't have to be the best offensive player to be one of the best players, shows what the Pistons look like without him. Best defensive player in the league. 6. Dirk Nowitzki - Dirk can shoot the 3, play down low and is a very tough defensive assignment for teams. 7. Andrei Kirilenko - Speaking of defense, Kirilenko is right with Wallace for defense plus he can score 16-20 a night. 7. LeBron James - A 19 year old dominating the game like this isn't fair, will be the best player in a few years. 8. Jason Kidd - When healthy, best floor general in the league, creates points when it isn't possible. 9. Amare Stoudemire - Quickly become one of the best players in the league, freakish athleticism. 10. Jermaine O'Neal - Leader of the Pacers, can easily argue a top 5 spot for him. MVP canidate every year.
Favorite NBA Team - Detroit Pistons
Build Around - LeBron James, at only 19 he is doing something no other player has ever done. He can play the 1, 2, and 3. Extremely fast in the open court, developing a deadly jump shot, and is the closest thing to MJ. Like I've said two other times, will be the best player in a few years.
Hope I get a team and get to talk basketball with you guys.
Thanks,
Aaron

The player you'd most like to build around, and why.....If I'm going to build a guaranteed year-in, year-out contender, Tim Duncan is far and away my choice. He is a player with the ability to take over a game and the mind to more often play team basketball instead. Defensively, he has great range, is mobile, quick, and, well, beastly. He's ridiculously good. No doubt, the best player on the league's best team, and no matter his supporting cast, his teams will always be good.

Never waw a real big fan of basketball until about 5-6 years ago. Now I find myself looking on the internet NBA info and draft info like crazy. Sick of Yahoo! fantasy basketball least year I dominated that (Shaq, Duncan, RIP, Amare, LeBron, Carmelo, Marion, Nowitzki, Kidd, Magloire; mind you this is one of my teams. I had 8 if i remember correctly) so now I'm out to take over a new type of simulation, BBS style.

Detroit Pistons: Bad Boys 2 whats not to love 'bout 'em?
Well I'm intrested in Atlanta; Paul Pierce. Pierce is a solid star that is clutch in close situations. I love the young talent that this team provides already. Caracter, Brown and Peja are great young players that are only going to get better. I'd say the bench would need a little more help. Two players stick out in my mind that would be a must to get rid of; Rafer Alston and Raef LaFrentz. Not so much LaFrentz, but Alston making a nasty 9mil a year contract is something I wouldn't deal with as a GM. Esp. him being a bench player.

I don't agree on instantly giving the nod to previous GMs... for the simple fact these are the same GMs that "may do well" for a while, but quit "when they get bored."
