Early rumors had Sacramento and now Seattle, while he wants New York.
Peja?
Q?
Vlad? Ouch
Regardless they wont get value for Artest.

Most rumors and according tohimself he will not play for a team on the west if he does go to a team there he will leave as soon as his contract allows, it was New York and one other east coast team he wanted to go to maybe Nets I cant remember the report they had about Artest, could have been Miami too.

The big rumors were LA and Denver yesterday, and it's ridiculous of Ron to refuse to go West. Knicks, I would think, have nothing expendable that interests Walsh and Bird.

Al Harrington has heard all the trade rumors that have him swapping places with Ron Artest, his former locker-room neighbor in Indiana. And he's not buying any of it, since there has been no contact by either side, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "It's all just Internet talk and stuff thrown around by newspaper guys," said Harrington.
The Boston Herald reports, the Celtics have placed the obligatory call to the Pacers to inquire about Artest. There are no firm reports on what the Celtics may have brought up, but logic would say that Mark Blount and his contract were in the mix. Paul Pierce cast a yea ballot. "Without question, I definitely wouldn't mind going to war with Ron Artest."
According to the Charlotte Observer, coach-general manager Bernie Bickerstaff says he isn't looking to make a bid for Artest. "I don't think we're in a panic situation. We like our pieces and we want to get an assessment of what we have," Bickerstaff said.
Ron Artest a Sonic? Not likely, but league sources confirmed that the team has made calls to the Pacers about the oft-maligned forward. General manager Rick Sund declined to comment on Tuesday, but acknowledged that rumors will continue to circulate about every team in the league until Artest is moved, reports the Seattle Times.
According to the New York Post, Knick President Isiah Thomas won't dive head-first into the Ron Artest sweepstakes and make the Pacers an offer just yet. Thomas is telling confidants he's taking a "wait-and-see" approach to see what other offers are made before calling Pacer prez Donnie Walsh.
Sixers president/general manager Billy King confirmed that he made a "due diligence" call to the Indiana Pacers about Ron Artest, but that no offer was made, the Philadelphia Daily News reported.
The Newark Star-Ledger reports, Rod Thorn's blood pressure might not be able to withstand having Artest on his roster, though he doesn't entirely rule it out. He just knows that if he were to trade for him, he wouldn't sleep that night, or many night thereafter. "As Donnie (Walsh, the Pacers CEO) said, you wonder what's the next thing coming. That's one of the things you have to look at." ESPN, NBA insider...

I could see Dallas taking Artest...Cuban is crazy enough to trade for Artest and have the salaries to trade.

Right now the strongest rumor...well there are no strong rumors other than that Artest is likely to go to a Western Confrence teams.
Golden State, Memphis, and Sacramento are my likely destinations. All out West and all have someone Indiana would want.

I know you frequesnt Pacer boards....Is there a favorite among Pacer fans that youve seen?
I really am surprised that the Warriors even came up. Im guessin this was just based on the players statements when asked about him, and not concrete info that Mullin made a phone call to Pacer brass.

If they listen to JO, Artest would be headed to Atlanta or Sacto. I just don't see how he thinks Al Harrington or Bonzi Wells would be the best players they could acquire.

Im guessin this was just based on the players statements when asked about him, and not concrete info that Mullin made a phone call to Pacer brass. I would say that the player who most Pacer fans (who have a good idea on Artest's value) would like to get Shane Battier. Doubt Jerry West trades him but everyone agrees that Battier for Artest would be almost a perfect trade for the Pacers. As for the Warriors interest it is more of just wishful thinking for Pacer fans. We would all love to get Pieatrus for Artest. The thing is that for the most part Warrior fans say that they would like Artest and MP prolly would be avaliable for him. Someone said a deal like Pieatrus/Fisher/Chaney for Artest/Johnson would work. I like that deal alot.

Fisher has been so huge this year, its hard for me to imagine trading MP and Fish. The deal with Foyle made more sense to me, since he has been a dissapointment. But then a C would need to come back. Something like MP, Foyle and Cheaney for Artest and Foster would work for me. The Warriors may need to deal more salary.

I don't see Indiana sending Artest to a title contender, especially one in their own confrence.

I saw reports on sports illustrated pages that he could go to the Lakers if the Pacers wanted to shead salaries most of the time it was involving Artest and A Johnson, for like Slava George and one other but Devean would help out till Granger was ready. I think it was Mihm or Bynum too.

I think Artest may have talked himself out of going to the Lakers.... In the midst of his take-me-back contrition tour, Indiana Pacers small forward Ron Artest spoke to an Indianapolis radio station on Friday. Artest was asked his thoughts on Magic Johnson’s recent comments that Artest didn’t deserve a second chance. “It’s like saying, ‘Magic, should your wife give you another chance? He’s saying Ron Artest should have no more second chances. What’s worse — me saying I want to be traded or you cheating on your wife?” This site is also a great read... www.deadspin.com/sports/nba/

I love Murphy, but I feel like hes someone that will never be a above average defender, or a prototypical 4. While someone like Ike could be a poor mans Elton Brand. And eventually AB will be at 5, with Diogu at 4. Im not sure Dunleavy will take a demotion to the bench well. But I could also see the Warriors start with a Phoenix Suns like, small lineup with Artest at 4. Obviously wont work against every team, but should work against some.

Right now I think the leading candidate is Golden State. Troy Murphy albeit is a very poor defender, he has the ability to shoot from the outside, and in a big man that's always a plus.
Denver-Atlanta-Indiana was a deal that was discussed that woulda sent Watson,Nene to Atlanta, Artest to Denver, and Harrington back to Indiana... unlikely imo,
Warriors are offering picks along with Murphy.
Minnesota Olowakandi and McCants
Boston Ricky Davis
I think Artest will go in a straight up deal... no teams needing to inolved a third team i.e. Lakers, Denver

Question is, can the Warriors move Mike D or Pietrus for another big? I like AB and Diogu alot, but they have had extreme foul troubles all year. Taft is decent. Foyle is inconsistent as hell. It would seem there is a huge surplus at 2/3 with JRich, Artest(potentially), Pietrus and Mike D. Id hope they could move 1 for another big, preferrably a good rebounder.

Read today on Chad Ford's chat that the Pacers may not want Murphy....
baron (golden state): will i have the tru warrier as a teammate after today?
Chad Ford: Maybe. The Ron Artest saga has gone on for a long time. The Pacers are right to be patient and wait for the right deal. The worst thing they could've done is rushed to make a bad deal. I've been writing for nearly a month that the Warriors are the best trading partner for Artest. They have players that Pacers want (Ike Diogu, Mickael Pietrus and perhaps Mike Dunleavy ... though I think that Troy Murphy won't be involved because his contract is too large for the Pacers liking) and the Warriors need Artest if they're going to get serious about being a contender. They are terrible defensively and Artest would provide a huge boost if he stays in control. So, for all of us that like good trades, we're hoping that the Pacers will deal him after they play tonight. Still, and I think we all hate to admit this, it's just speculation at this point. The Pacers have done a good job keeping things close to the vest.

Would need to deal Foyle of Fisher if the deal was around Pietrus, to make the salaries work.
