Ive noticed that alot of the hometowns for players are inaccurate. Do they have an impact on where a player will sign / want to re-sign? Im thinking they may since Sam Dalembert took less money to sign with the Heat and they are listed as his hometown. So my 2 questions are... 1) Does the hometown affect players decisions of signings? 2) If so, can we change the ones that are wrong?

If they have an effect, that would be horrible. Changing them sounds equally bad, due to the "pain in the ass" factor. But, very curious to see if hometown makes a difference.

They do have an affect, and we can change them.

Dang, that might take a long while to change all of them.

Because this has an effect on where players choose to go, I will allow GMs to post here any potential hoetown changes. Just list the players name, and a link to either an nba.com or espn player info page.

Just personally, i'd like to keep it.
It does have an effect on most players when signing anyway.
Tracy McGrady went to Orlando because he is from there.
Andre Miller wanted to be traded to the Clippers because he is from LA, Baron Davis wanted to go there too.
Eric Dampier likes Memphis because that is the closest team to where he is from, Mississippi.
Steve Nash considered the Raptors I believe because he is from Canada.
