I'm curious to know on how you are going to handle his ratings, if you are even putting him in the draft?
Yes, he never played in the NBA although drafted by the Nets(because he declined too) but he was the leading scorer for the Olympics I believe 3 times in a rown avereging like 40+ppg in the 88 olympics, and is probably the best Brazilian player ever.
I think you should definently add him, and in my opinion a Top 10 pick... probably even Top 5.

I don't think you can make a guy who didn't play in the NBA top 10, but if he had such a prolific olympic career, couldnt hurt to have him in the draft. Just my two cents.

cant you make it where a player has a lot of potential but that doesnt meen he will fill it out? like how nolan smith is? if you can id say thats what you do with him, he has a lot of potential but you dont know if he will ever reach it.

Ill have to do some more research. If he really was that good, i would make him at least starter quality. Probably not star quality though

I watched him play alot, and this is when he wa like 36 or 38, he was brought up as a soccer star and switched over to basketball he lit up the usa team for like 38 one time, he was awsome, similar game style to Chris Mullin if you had to compare, and he is the all time olympic scorer in baskebal history, i think also for average too.

I remember watching specials on the guy...was an absoloute stud. The South American Jordan if I remember correctly. Either way I can't see why we shouldn't put him in the league...gives us another good player to help out a lottery team.

Yes, all the NBA teams were after him but he did not want to go to the NBA because he feared that he would not get alot of minutes if he did. And no, he didn't light up the David Robinson and Danny Manning-led USA team with 38 points... he had 46 points, and beat the US after trailing at halftime 68-54. This guy is a star in my opinion.

Im probably gonna enter Schmidt in the 13 draft. At first I was thinking hed be a mid round pick, and after reading through all these posts people seem to think hes a top 5 talent. From what Ive read on him he was a superb scorer that had no desire to play D. having said that these are my preliminary ratings....
C+ A- C C C- A
So he should become a 1st option scorer, but wasnt a good defender in the NBA and wont be a good defender in the BBS.

Somehow, someway he'll still end up being an 'A' defender.
