How can we write an explicit rule that goes beyond 'no tanking' though? It's hard to specify, since it's a case by case thing, but cutting a star shouldn't fly. However, I think it would be common sense to restrain from cutting a star towards the stretch run of the season when it could tamper with the outcome.
I was under the impression waivers were enforced for any cut or buyout; since they aren't and there a debate point here, maybe we should vote on it? That way, when one decides to cut a player, it isn't on a first come, first serve basis and instead every team has a period of time to mull over signing the player and the worst team gets him.

Since no one else can seem to come up with a logical solution, Ill make a new rule.
Buyouts now go through the waiver process. Starting with Francis. So make claims now. Ill edit the rules later.
Tanking. You cannot IL players unless they are scrubs or injured. You can control your DC however you want. So therefore tanking in that respect is allowed.
Questions?

You can't really blame anyone for thnking this was a planned course of action. Just look at all the facts. Timing, needs and just the strangness of it. It really does "appear" to be something that was thoughtout. If you didnt, then my bad. If you did, then you did.
Bottom line is it's a bad precedent(purposely tanking).
As for solutions...
-buy outs, trades, cuts...all go on waivers.
Btw, has anyone seen Minerva?

The reason I bought out Francis was because of the amount of flexibility it would give me in FA. As Spencer said, the timing of it is simply my decision to make, and I made that decision when I felt that I would not get anything of value back because of Francis' bloated salary. Everything I am doing is not only within the rules, but in the best interest of my team. Spencer warned me that NY needed a real overhaul before I took the team. If nothing else I would say that I'm pleased that I was able to overhaul the team in just a season's time. My team's goal has never been the playoffs; the goal has always been a championship. My current team was not near that goal, and I feel that my lineup next season will be more competitive.

If you want a solution I thought of this maybe try and do bidding for the start type player, some teams do have cap left.
