I don't know, I thought it was an OK offer. Are you saying no based on a rule or just relative to other player's contracts? If based on a rule, the only thing I saw was the 120% or max. cap space rule.

If based on a rule, the only thing I saw was the 120% or max. cap space rule. Based on similar players, and past contracts ths offer is pretty low. Firs thing I think is Biedrins. Defense is lower, but rebounding and offense are similar, and age and potential is similar. AB got a contract starting at 8.5 or 9. Because you have Bird rights, you can offer Erden pretty much anything you want, although Im gonna guess I wouldnt OK anything less then something around 7.5 or 8 to start. If thats too much for you, let him walk and bid against other teams, you may get him cheaper. Remember, this is a luxury, the in season process. Its so if you want, you can pay a player well and keep him. If you think the demands are too high, let him walk. |
