"We thought that many changes were going to be made." said GM rommie. "deals have fell through though." the GM added.
After the suprise team last year received a 2nd place finish in the Eastern Confrence and the Atlantic Division Tittle the Celtics lost in the first round to the 7th seed Hawks from Atlanta.
"That playoff lost was very upsetting. We really planned on making some major changes but the deals have fell through and talks with some teams haven't gone far."
The GM is optomistic though about the team he has. He stated that "We have a very good team but we must get better on the defenseive end. We are a veteran poised team. We have some leadership and great guys on the team but our starting unit has to play like a starting unit should on the defenseive end."
It has been rumored that many changes would be made. Peja wasn't supposed to be here nor was Jamal Crawford, Carlos Boozer, or Mike Bibby.
"I'm suprised i'm in Boston right now." stated Peja. "but I know that the trading process isn't over until the deadline so I am prepared if something does happen."
Peja was rumored to be in a blockbuster deal with the Spurs which would give the Celtics Brandin Wright, among others. Crawford would possiably be in the deal too but that deal seems to be off as of now. Mike Bibby, who was acquired in exchange for Andre Miller, may be on his way back to Cleveland in exchange for you guest it, Andre Miller. Carlos Boozer was reportedly on his way to Memphis for Calvin Natt but that deal is no longer on the table.
"Those deals mentioned above were only some of the more recent deals that have either fell through or put on hold." stated rommie.
While the start of the season is lumming don't be suprsied when you hear about a Boston trade because it just might happen. Rommie hopes sooner than we all think.
