Final Sim!
The last 2 spots in the East came down to the wire. 5 teams within 2 games for the final 3 spots. The Bulls were hot down the stretch and only a 1 pt loss to the Pacers prevented the Bulls from tying for the last playoff spot. FBB doesnt show tie breakers, so Im not sure if the Bulls woulda got in, but damn it was close. The Cavs were also right there, losing their last game to the Raps finishing tied with the Bulls at 41-41.
The Raps are the 1 seed i the East, beating out the Pistons. The Knicks passed the Magic for the 2 seed. Magic lost their last 6 games to finish as the 4 seed. Pistons struggled in the final sim and could not hold off the Raps. Pistons get the 3rd seed. Wiz are the 5th seed, while the Hawks Hornets and Celtics finish out the playoff teams.
The Jazz were the 8th seed, and there was really no competition for that spot. The Clipps fell apart at the end of the year, and the Kings and Nuggets couldnt catch the Jazz despite playing the best ball of the year near the end.
Sonics won the top seed, while the TWolves reclaimed the Midwest title, passing the Spurs in the final week. The Blazers were the 3rd seed, and 1 of only 2 50 win teams in the West(Sonics and Blazers). Warriors and Spurs both finished with 48 wins, and will face each other in the playoffs. The defending champion Rockets will be on the road in the first round, going to Portland. Grizz got the 7th seed, while the Jazz got 8th.
