The playoffs are finally here in the BBS and here is a look at what just may happen.
Matchups:
East.
1. Bulls vs. 8. Hornets.
2. Wizards vs. 7. Raptors.
3. Pistons vs. 6. Knicks.
4. Hawks vs. 5. Nets.
West.
1. Spurs vs. 8. Clippers.
2. SuperSonics vs. 7. Jazz.
3. Timberwolves vs. 6. Rockets.
4. Lakers vs. 5. Warriors.
Predictions:
East.
Round 1.
1. Bulls vs. 8. Hornets.
- The Bulls should take care of the Hornets with little to no effort at all. The Hornets have a very young and inexpierenced team who will have a very tough but short series. The Bulls are the team of the present and the Hornets are built for the future.
2. Wizards vs. 7. Raptors.
- This should be a very nice series with the Wizards coming out on top in 6 games or so. The Raptors depth of quality big men will try and make this a very interesting series and give NeNe and Al Jefferson all they can handles.
3. Pistons vs. 6. Knicks.
- Should be the best series in the first round. The Knicks looked extremely strong earlier in the year and have a outside chance of upsetting the Pistons. Ultimentaly the Pistons should take them out though.
4. Hawks vs. 5. Nets.
- The Hawks are the best young team in the BBS and will look to Paul Pierce to carry this team through this series vs Kobe Bryant and his fellow Nets teamates. Ultimentaly though the Hawks should win this one in 5 games.
Round 2.
1. Bulls vs 4. Hawks.
- The Hawks should put up a good fight but the Bulls are simply way to great to lose, even with an injury they should still win.
2. Wizards vs 3. Pistons.
- The Pistons should come out on top as the slightly lower seed here with Jermaine O'Neal flexing his muscle and talent inside the Wizards defense down low.
Confrence Finals.
1. Bulls vs 3. Pistons.
- The Bulls will win this series. They have great defense down low in the paint and super perminter talent that will be just to much for the Pistons.
West.
Round 1.
1. Spurs vs. 8. Clippers.
- The Spurs played great all year and should easily beat the Clippers.
2. SuperSonics vs. 7. Jazz.
- The Jazz have the defense to pull out an upset on most teams but they are facing an even better defensieve squad in the all mightly SuperSonics.
3. Timberwolves vs. 6. Rockets.
- Should be one of the best series in the playoffs. As much as I do like the Timberwolves I will predict an upset here and say the Rockets will prevail into the second round.
4. Lakers vs. 5. Warriors.
- The Warriors are the defending champions but the Lakers frontcourt tandem will be to much in the halfcourt set as Shaq and Sheed will dominate. Then when the Lakers run the break look for there backcourt to explode past the Warriors as Andre Miller and Allen Iverson will be to much speed there.
Round 2.
1. Spurs vs. 4. Lakers.
- Sorry to the Spurs but I can not say no to Shaq, Sheed, Iverson, Dre Miller, and my man Luol Deng, who Boston should not have traded btw. The Lakers have no depth worth talking about so it should be a series that goes down to the wire. Can the Spurs nice balance beat the Lakers dominace? I don't think so but I won't be suprised if they do. I still pick the Lakers.
2. SuperSonics vs. 6. Rockets.
- Defense, defense, defense. That is what the Sonics will use to beat the Rockets in no more than 5 games. Possiably 6 but I doubt it.
Confrence Finals.
4. Lakers vs. 2. SuperSonics.
- I will not go against the Sonics defense. They have so much defense it is endless. The backcourt tag team of Michael Reed and Kirk Hinrich should put on a shooting and scoring clinic with Gerald Green chipping in with a big game here and there.
BBS Finals.
1. Bulls vs. 2. SuperSonics.
- I think that the SuperSonics defense will shut down the Bulls and sweep them in just 4 games...no seriously I see this series going 6 or 7 games with the Bulls coming out on top and winning yet another BBS championship.
There will be alot of great basketball being played in this years playoffs and although I don't expect a suprise team like last years playoffs [ala the Golden State Warriors.] I expect there to be a couple upsets here and there. Ultimenatly though I don't see anyone really beating the all mighty Chicago Bulls.
