It could be said this is change for the sake of change. To an extent, that's true. Obviously, a second deal will need to follow this one, since I'm now paper thin up front and overloaded in the backcourt. I realize this, and will seek to help that problem rather quickly with another trade.
I'm not sure why, but Elton's production has suffered significantly this year. Whether it's the fact that there are too many other scorers taking shots away, or just the start of a slow decline, he hasn't been the guy he was even last season.
I don't mind parting with Frasor, since obviously he isn't necessary anymore, with Marbury and Hinrich there to run the point.
We now have Steph/Hinrich/Redd/Tmac/Higgins fighting for 3 lineup spots. I intend to ship one of them out as soon as I find the right offer, so we can get another big man to keep McHale company.
I think the 2015 76ers pick is something to just hold onto, and see what develops in the next couple of seasons. As deep as the East is and will be for the near future, it'll be difficult for Philly to move up a great deal.
