After failing last year to advance to the BBS Finals by losing to the Detroit Pistons in the third round of the Playoffs, the Chicago Bulls are focusing once again to advance to the BBS Finals and winning a fourth Championship this year. Last year, the Bulls didn't have Emeka Okafor and LeBron James for most of the 2nd Half and they were about 90% healthy in the Playoffs and played a little banged up. But now that both are fully healthy once again, they are ready to try to lead their team to the Finals along with fellow Captain Tracy McGrady.
When the season ended last year, the Bulls saw that the Detroit Pistons had dealt Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. GM C.C. had a few words to say to the media about the move:
"I was a bit surprised because we felt that Kobe and Shaq were the two most important players on Detroit as well as the two of the most dominant players in the league. I was kind of shock after hearing the news, but I understand why the move was made. But at the same time, I feel good because now I feel that our team has a better advantage to winning the Division once again. We didn't accomplish that last year because some of our players were banged up and that Detroit was the better team."
After the short talk with the GM, the media asked Coach Jerry Sloan to what he expects his team to do this season:
"I expect us to have a better season than last year with everyone healthy and ready to go. I expect us to win a lot of games and make the Playoffs once again and hopefully get to the Finals. And our goal is to win another Championship and make history in the BBS. This is what our fans want and team wants every year and we will do whatever it takes to get there because this team has made HUGE success in this league and we feel that we are the team to beat this season."
With the starting five featuring Eddy Curry, Emeka Okafor, LeBron James, Tracy McGrady and Shaun Livingston, the 2nd Unit features Antawn Jamison, Alan Houston, Carlos Boozer, and a promising young rookie in Andrew Bynum. Theo Ratliff will also provide Defense off the bench as well. With this team having loads of talent and Playoff experience, the question is will the Chicago Bulls get to the Finals and take home another Championship? Stay tune and see...
