The Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons are at the top of the BBS. With the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors recieving plent of love as well.
So here is a look at the teams you never hear about.
- Washington Wizards.
They are currently 2nd in the Atlantic Division and 16-12 overall. They have Jason Kidd, Corey Maggette, Zach Randolph, and newly acqiured star Carmelo Anthony as the stars in the Nation's capital. With Peter Ramos starting at center and averaging almost a double double along with a couple of blocks, the Wizards have a very strong starting 5. Off the bench they have Damon Stoudamire, Kerry Kittles, Rashard McCants, Al Jefferson, and Viktor Khryapa. Jerome James has proven he can grab 8 rebounds per game when given the playing time. This team is very deep and very talented. Expect them to compete hard against Miami for the Atlantic Division crown.
- New Orleans Hornets
The team holds a 21-9 record and a 3rd place in the Central Division, right behind Chicago and Detroit. With young bigs Pavel Biedrins defending and rebounding inside, Antwan Jamison and Baron Davis carrying most of the scoring load, and Mike Miller droping 18 points of his own, this team is very dangerous. There bench is nothing to brag about but they get the job done and done well.
- Los Angeles Clippers
After last seasons many trades the team has started to come together, thanks to a couple of off-season signings in Glen Robinson and Dajuan Wagner. This team is very dagnerous. Amare Stoudamire and Steve Francis might be the best or atleast the most productive duo in the BBS. They have Sammuel Dalembert, top 5 centers IMO. He gives them a double double along with 3 blocks or so. Add Dajuan's scoring and Glen's scoring and you have a very dangerous team. Off the bench is Mo Williams, Andres Nocioni, Mario Austin, and Chris Anderson. These are not big names but the chemistry is there and they produce. Frank Williams produced well when starting late last season and is more than capable of playing big minuates.
If any team suprises you this season, it should be one of these 3 teams. The Clippers could make a finals run being in the wide open West. It would take some injuries for Washington or New Orleans to see the finals being in the East with Chicago and Detroit. Not to mention Miami.
All 3 teams are playing fabulous and their respective GMs should get the recanition for it.
