.San Antonio-Clyde Drexler SG.....Spurs need pretty much everything. They have played over their heads for the last couple seasons, and only now seem to be playing to their talent level. Adding a talent like Drexler will make the rebuild that much easier. Drexler is a All-League talent and can make most players around him that much better. Add Drexler to solid young players like eric Devendorf and Sleepy Floyd and the Spurs are just a few big men away from returning to the playoffs.
.Detroit(from Sacramento)-Ralph Sampson C.....Pistons have so much talent, but are starting to age. Center isnt really a need with young stud Herb Williams there, but Jermaine O'Neal is getting up there in age, and you cant pass on a talent like Ralph Sampson. He is an elite center that will eventually push Williams to power forward. Sampson should near 20 and 10 which is always nice.
.Boston(from Miami)-Dale Ellis SG.....Highly unlikely the heat pick is this good after their recent trades, but if in fact Boston lands here, theyd love to get Ellis. Although the need a big more, they cant pass on Dale Ellis. hes an elite shooter that should score as much as 20 ppg as a rookie. With a supreme backcourt of Darius Washington and Mark Aquirre, both of who tend to flourish with driving or perimeter shots, ellis should get a ton of open looks from deep.
.Dallas(from Washington)-Doc Rivers PG.....Mavs are in desperate need of a true floor leader. Rivers could step in and not only give leadership, but also some great defense and a little scoring. With perimeter players Quentin Richardson and Marvin Williams expect Rivers to approach 10 dimes a game as a rookie.
.Sacramento(from Philadelphia)-Byron Scott SG.....Kings could use a little bit of everything. Getting a player like Byron Scott helps in many ways. Scott not only is a solid scorer from the 2 guard spot, but he can handle and defend as well. A rebuilding team like the Kings could use a multi dimensional talent like Byron Scott.
.LA Clippers-Thurl Bailey PF.....Clippers do not need a PF with Amare still around, but they do need some better big depth, and Thurl Bailey is a terrific inside scorer. Bailey will be perfect off the bench at 3, 4 and 5. The Clipps have had trouble reaching that next level, hopefully Bailey can come in and help.
.Orlando(from Seattle)-Derek Harper PG.....The Magic have wanted a better backup PG for Fat Lever and seem to have found him in Harper. Harper is a very good distributor and defender who can score a little. Getting Harper should allow Lever to slide to shooting guard some.
.Sacramento(from New York)-Sedalle Threatt PG.....With Byron Scott already picked, the Kings decide to solidify their backcourt of the future by getting Threatt. More of a scorer then a true point, Scott and Threatt will complement each other well. Both can handle and score, and get shots for their teammates.
.Golden State(from New Jersey)-Jeff Malone SG.....The Warriors have few if any holes, so there picks in the first this year are strictly best player available. In Malone the Warriors pick up a true mid range scorer who can put up big numbers in the right offense. Not the best defender you could see Malone shipped out of Golden State because of there depth at guard.
.Golden State(from Los Angeles)-Antoine Carr PF.....Once again its best player available for the Warriors, and this time they go big with Antoine Carr. Carr is an offensive force from the low block who can board a little, and defend a little. Not a super overall player, probably shouldnt even be a starter, but hes a very good scorer, ideal as a bench guy.
