Franchise Player:
Ben Gordon
Gordon made great strides as the leader of the team last year. He split time at SG and PG and will be relied on again in his scoring and other things he brings to the game. Still, relatively young and made his first all-start appearance last year still has some time to be greater.
Team Strength:
Backcourt and Defensive minded players
The team is led by the combo of Devin Harris and Ben Gordon and now with newly added Ron Artest, it just adds another element to enchancing that. The other players know their role in the game and come in play good minutes and not give up many points.
Team Weaknessess
Frontcourt depth and bench
Losing James Bailey really hurt this team's chances of returning to the West finals again this year. But, I believe I did my best to reassemble the frontcourt to be formidable. Leaving are Bailey, Darrell Arthur, and Damir Omerhodzic to other teams during free agency and trades. Coming back are Wayne Cooper, Chris Kaman for a second stint, and Uros Slokar and Ike Diogu as backups. Also, resigning Brendan Haywood was key and Mike Harper is a nice big man reserve to have. Still, this does not match up with the depth of last year and may hurt us this year against some teams matchup wise.
Outlook:
Being since last year was a surprise and everyone counted this team out, I am not going to expect a lot much like last year. I believe I take that approach the team can do better and ill be optimistic. The team is relatively young and solid in most areas. I believe a berth in the playoffs is definitely a serious possibility and anything beyond that will be great as well.
