Francis and Marbury now in New York... on paper, New York's team is stacked at guard... but it's just that on paper, I don't see the Knicks having a shot at playoffs even with this deal.

man, living in nyc with all my friends being knicks fans (myself being a lakers fan) they want to hunt isiah down and choke him. knicks fans are begining to realize superstar talent does not = wins.

It's crazy enough that it just might work
anyone that has ESPN radio and heard the Dan Patrick Show today (Keith Oberman and Dan's fill in were on) discussed NBA Trade Deadline Day being a National Holiday and bashed Isiah the whole time using the recording of that quote numerous times... it was hilarious

I dont dislike this deal for them. I dont think theyll win more, but I like the idea of Francis and Marbs together. Especially when it seems no one is giving them a chance.

the only reasoning that could be made for this being a good trade is that isiah got good value for two players the could net nothing. hopefully he'll use marbury or francis as trade bait in the offseason, and make this deal look halway decent.
but then again, it is the knicks...

I'd love to see Larry Brown preaching his play the right way philosophy to Marbury/Francis. Ahahahah

Thomas has done a horrible job of getting players Larry Brown likes. Apparently KG is who Isiah really wants, but I dont see how the Francis deal got them closer to that. Brown is an awesome coach, but he doesnt adapt to his players, he wants his players to adapt to him. I cant see Francis and Marbs adapting. Theyre gonna have to meet in the middle.
I think the pieces, if coached and schemed correctly could be a decent team.

The Knicks did get value for what would be nothing at this end of this year but they are slowly trading themself into a corner because they are going to have so many bad contracts they won't be able to deal with anyone.
Curry and Frye could be a very nice frontcourt if given a couple of more years (which I see happening) but they need the backcourt to get the ball to them... not through missed shots but passes
I hope this trade works out because at the start of the season I hadn't been as excited to watch my Knicks play in awhile but they quickly turned me off to watching them or the NBA regular season again
