Of course this is relative to the Warriors normal way of goin about business. Usually the Warriors are a definate win for opposing squads, but slowly things seem to be changing. Its easy for Warrior fans to get excited about a couple wins, so please forgive us, but even for those who watch them every game, they seem to be a much better squad after acquiring Baron Davis. Here are some tidbits about the Warriors recent play...
The Warriors are 7-6 with Baron Davis.
The Warriors are 9-6 in their last 15.
Of those 6 losses, they include...
a 6 point loss to Detroit in Oakland.
a 2 point loss to Memphis in Memphis.
a 4 point loss to Detroit in Detroit.
a 3 point loss to Houston in Oakland.
So with a couple baskets here and there, the Warriors could pretty easily be 13-2 in their last 15. More then just the win loss record, the Warriors with Baron Davis are just a completely different team. They have much more confidence, and get many more open looks at the basket. The younger players are coming up big, namely Zarko Carbarkapa, Micheal Pietrus and Andris Biedrins.
The most encouraging of all signs is, the Warriors core is signed(except Mike Dunleavy, who is a Chris Mullin favorite, and almost certainly will be retained)and young. And the Warriors, even with their recent play, will get a top 5 selection in the next NBA draft.
This is the best basketball the Warriors have played since Chris Webber and Latrell Sprewell were here. I predict the Warriors will be better then the Clippers, Kings and Lakers next year.
