.Dominique Wilkins SF Golden State]...Huge jump for the Warriors up to #1. The rich get richer here, as Wilkins gives the Warriors another elite player. Golden State was especially strong big, with Darko Milicic and Emeka Okafor, and at the point with Mustafa Shakur, so getting a wing like Wilking actually fills a need. Darko fit in well as a #1 option for Golden State last year, but eventually that job will go to the "Human Highlight Reel". A starting 5 of Okafor, Darko, Wilkins, Thad Young and Shakur is young and talented. The Warriors should be the team to beat in the West this year.
.James Worthy SF Seattle...Worthy has already been traded twice in his BBS career, but hopefully he ended up in a good spot in Portland. Should be a perfect complimentary player to Brandon Rush and also newly acquired Marcus Banks. Worthy isnt an elite scorer, but his overall game, including defense, will benefit the Blazers greatly. With good young frontcourt guys like Semih Erden and James Donaldson, and as awesome backcourt in Banks and Rush, Worthy is a great 5th starter.
.Fat Lever PG Sacramento...The Kings dealt the 5th and 6th spots to jump up and take Lever. On a pure talent level, there is no doubt Lever is the 3rd best player available, but is he worth 2 very good players? Only time will tell, but with the Kings talent at the smaller positions, its questionable that they dealt for Lever. Especially when they couldve grabbed a couple of very good big players in LaSalle Thompson and Mark Eaton. As for Lever, he is a super talent and should be an elite point guard in the BBS. Just not sure how long it will take for him to get some PT.
.Terry Cummings PF Chicago...Bulls were really hoping for a top 3 pick, and were a bit dissapointed to fall to 4. Cummings is an awesome addition to an already good squad. He adds toughness, rebounding, leadership and interior scoring. Cummings, and a 1st rounder from last year, Tom Chambers, complete opposites, and should form a solid 1-2 punch at power forward.
.LaSalle Thompson C Philadelphia... and
.Ricky Pierce SG Philadelphia...Huge deal for the new GM in Philly, swapping the 3rd pick for the 5th and 6th spots. Thompson and Pierce offer alot, and 2 positions of need. Thompson should step right in and start at center. He's not an elite talent, but he's a double double guy that can defend and could be a top rebounder. Pierce is a very good scorer, that could get near 20 points per game at some point in his career. To fill two needs this well, with one deal is huge for the up and comming Sixers franchise.
.Mark Eaton C LA Lakers...Not exactly the sexy pick youd think the Lakers were looking for, but apparently Eaton is sexy enough for Lakers brass. Eaton steps in at the 5 spot, and should be a ALl League defender. He isnt the best scorer, or rebounder, but he has intimidating size, and will block a ton of shots. The Lakers had a ton of holes to fill, but having a defensive presence like Eaton to clean up mistake around the basket is a great start.
.Sleepy Floyd PG San Antonio...With Chauncey Billups getting up there in age, it seemed as though Eric Devendorf would be the Spurs point of the future. But after drafting Sleepy Floyd, it seems Devendorf will move to shooting guard and Floyd is the 1 of the future. Super quick, with amazing handles, and solid scoring ability, Sleepy should be a great acquistion for this aging franchise.
