I just read an article that included an interview with Crawford's agent. He pretty much said Crawford will be a Knick soon (not tomorrow or anything but soon). Well, that is what he said both the teams have pretty much told him. The deal is looking to be 7 years 70mil, which would put the Knicks over the 100mil payroll. The rumored deals are: NYK gets: Crawford, JYD, Robison CHI gets: Mutombo, Trybanski (or whatever), Harrington, Anderson Knicks may be giving Frank Williams in the deal but its unsure at the moment, but most reports I've read have had a deal like the one listed above (I may be forgetting a player but you get the idea).

Im suprised the deal is worth so much, I had been hearing MLE for 5 or 6 years. Thats a huge contract for a player like Crawford who hasnt shown any consistentcy.

A deal in the 50-60 million dollar range would have been much more reasonable.
But if Adonaly Foyle can make 8 million a season than why can't Crawford make 10?

The deal that Chicago wants is: Crawford, J. Williams, and E. Robinson for S.Anderson, Mutombo, Harrington, F Will, and Trybanski
the Knicks however want Moochie in deal instead of Mutombo...
because neither team could work this out a Chicago Rep says its dead. I doubt it because Isiah really wants Crawford.
I just read some new news that the Knicks are now discussin a KT for Big Z type of deal with Cleveland (maybe to have someone replace Mutombo and get both done???)

The reason why this isn't getting done is because of the large amount of Crawfords deal. If the deal was less then the Bulls would just send Williams and the Knicks wouldn't have to send Anderson (Bulls dont want his or Moochies contract but is willint to take one) and the deal would likely occur quickly. However the steps have taken "a step backward."

I still see this deal getting done one way or another.

if this deal works out and i hope it does, it would be a nice pickup, its good to get a guy like crawford whos good and young, and the knicks also dont have much youth either they have allan houston at sg whos gettin old and injured so getting crawford will definetly help at sg and marybury at pg thats a pretty nice backcourt

Im not a Knicks fan, but I am rooting for Isaiah to turn things around there, and I like Marbury alot as a player. Hopefully they do get Crawford, it would be a nice piece for them.

I am a Knicks fan and like I think all of us would love to see this happen. This may cause us to lose out on big Z since I read that the deal is getting close again because Isiah has agreed to put Mutombo in but at least we will have Crawford
Along with the Big Z trade I read in insider today that a newspaper or something has a possible 4 way trade going down...
Dallas gets: VC Golden State gets: KT New York gets: Walker and Dampier Toronto gets: Shandon Anderson lmao
ESPN said there is a trade like this being worked on but obviously the Raptors wouldnt think of doing this and GS prob wouldnt either, but it is starting to look like NY may get a better center:)

Houston has not fully recovered from last years injury and is still having some pain and problems with his knee. He reportedly won't be 100% for the start of the season so Crawford would start in his place, but if both are healthy and on the current Knicks roster Houston will start and Crawford will backup the both Houston and Marbury. However, if the Knicks have a whole at the 3 (injury to TT) or at the 4 (KT traded and Sweetney has sophomore slump) all 3 could start.

I think overall people underestimate the importance of depth. A 3rd guard can play as much if not more than a starter.
