Every year there are multiple MIN offers the first 3 days of FA. And most of the MINs dont sign till day 4. So to remedy this, I think Id like to change the FA process a bit. Days 1 2 and 3 are for teams with cap room, teams with Bird rights or MLE and LLE offers. So no MIN offers. Days 4 and 5 will be simmed together, and MIN offers can be put in for just that 1 sim. Itll save me alot of time, and I think the results are gonna be the same.
Secondly Im gonna be more strict on how offers are stated, and will need to be in a specific order to be legal offers. Id like it to be a simple 3 number offer......yrs/$$/%
So for example 4yrs/8mill starting/10% increases or 4-8-10.
Also Id really like GMs to try and write down expiring contract values, so they know how much they can offer. Its quite simple. If you dont have Bird rights you can offer up to 120% of the expiring contract, for up to 6 years with up to 10% increases.

This is getting way to friendly for teams with cap room.
If I have cap room am I allowed to bid 3 years 1 mil per year with no increases on day 1 for a younger guy?

He has a decent point there, since it'd be easier for a team with cap room to make minimum offers.
I think a remedy might be to make a thread for minimum contracts, where guys can just say 1 or 2 inside a board for a players name, but you can designate certain players better than minimum and maybe not make a thread for them. Just an idea

It's all good with me Spence. Whatever makes things easier for you. I won't be under the cap for 6000000 years anyway

yah good procedure i think. Cuz it was kinda irritating me that players who had 1 or 2 max offers than 16 other people with no cap room and no chance at signing the player replied with "2 year minimum".

At the very least Id like to cap MIN offers, like a maximum of 5 or 10 MIn offers. Its just frustrating to see teams way over the cap offer like 20 minimum offers.

Yeah, I get that Spence. I never saw the point either. It's not like I think those teams will get them.
I guess in all fairness, though, I've never been in that cap situation. Lord knows I will be now though...

I may be in cap hell, but I like my team.

look how I did my min offers. I wasn't stupid and went and offered the min to people who were getting much more. I offered affalo and adams because I want my bird rights and maybe they have some loyalty.
Use Magloire for example. After I put in my bid that totaled around 60 mil 2 people put 2 year min after that. ha get real.
Simply put have some courtesy for the commish and don't just put if for everyone. A cap of 10 is fine.

Your idea is fine, its basically how it works in real life, guys wait out for money until there is no choice but you sign for the minimum.

what about something more simple, like if a player gets an offer of mle or better, then no min deals will be accepted?
i dont think u could do it with lle, because some of these vets will be getting 2.1 mill over 2 years and i think thats too close to lle.
but i think the mle one would be perfect
