Anyone that is wanting the team should post here, and say why they should get them, what they would do with them, and essentially argue their case.
Current BBS Gms can throw in their 2 cents and help me decide who the new GM will be.
Aaron, get your cousin in here ASAP.

Hey guys, Spencer asked me to post here about being interested in the 76ers.
You guys don't know me, so I'm not sure what I can say as far as "why I deserve" this team. Like I said in another thread, I was in another league awhile back before it folded. I had a great time building a team and keeping them competitive. Championships are my goal. It looks like alot of you guys know each other, and that is cool. Hopefully I could become part of the community. I love basketball, and I'm uber competitive. I will not accept losing.
I'd love to take over any team, but especially the 76er's right now. I am a Boston fan, and as such, am very familiar with the 76er's franchise. The 76er's are also being built (I guess) kind of how I'd like to build them. I like versatile guards (which they have) and tons of defense (this is where I'll have to make changes). It looks like they may end up with a top 5 pick, which should help in the retooling process (though I haven't looked over the draft class much).
To sum up, I'm a huge basketball fan, that is looking forward to building a championship caliber team. The 76er's have some pieces, and with the draft, FA (in future years since they have no cap room), and some trades, I think I can take them to the promise land. Hopefully you guys will give me that chance.
Thanks.
Jake

Pace: Fast Trap: Often Press: Normal Focus: Outside
1. Iggy 2. Arenas 3. Miles
C: Diop, Aldridge, Corzine PF: Swift, Aldridge, Collison SF: Miles, Iggy, James SG: Iggy, Ainge, Jaric PG: Arenas, Sparrow, Jaric
IL: Macy, Collins, Ramos
Would probably start out like that, with the current roster. I can guarantee that moves will be made before the season starts though, as there are a couple of guys that don't really "fit" into what I'm trying to do.
Trade block: I'm always willing to listen for everybody. I'd say Iggy is pretty much untradable unless I get a Lebron-type back. Arenas and Swift are probably a notch below, but would still be difficult to get. Depending on wether I get a SF or C in the draft, guys like Miles and Aldridge will be moved. Jaric is available (nice combo guard in his walking year), and James (good young talent, may wait until after TC to move him).
Like I said, I'm always willing to listen. Want to improve defense, without sacrificing offense. Biggest holes are at the SF (looking for a shooter that can defend) and C (defense, defense, defense).
I guess I answered the biggest needs question above.

Hey guys, I was introduced to this league by my cousin Aaron (current GM of the Sonics). My name is Hernando, I live in New York City, and I’m currently a senior in high school. For my whole life, I’ve been a huge sports fan (Lakers, Mets, and Jets), and this is just the type of league I’ve been looking for. As my cousin Aaron can confirm, I’m ALWAYS online, and always doing something related to sports.
As the standings show, the 76ers need some help to regain the prominence they deserve, and since the season is almost over, I’ve already begun to think of what I will attempt to do in the off-season. The team already has some solid young players (Rory Sparrow, a young Danny Ainge, and Iguodala), but also has some aging veterans with large contracts. I realize that in order for the 76ers to contend, I’m going to have to free up some cap space so I can make a splash in free agency. The only way I see myself freeing up some cap space, is by trading some of the attractive players on my team, for young cheap talent, expiring contracts, or draft picks. Some of the obvious players I’m looking at in this upcoming draft are Dominique, Worthy, Terry Cummings, and Mark Eaton.
My team has a -5 point differential, letting opponents score on average 111 points per game. Because of this, one of my main focuses will be on improving my team’s defense. As the old saying goes, “defense wins championships.” With that, here is my Depth Chart, Players I would like to trade, and players I’d love to trade for.
Depth Chart: PG Gilbert Arenas/Marko Jaric/Rory Sparrow SG Andre Iguodala/Andre Iguodala/Danny Ainge SF Darius Miles/Darius Miles/Damion Jones, PF Stromile Swift/ Stromile Swift/Nick Collison C Lamarcus Aldridge/Dave Corzine/DaSagna Diop
Injured List: Kyle Macy, Peter Ramos, Don Collins
Pace: Fast Trap: Rare Press: Normal Focus: Mostly Outside
Key Player 1: Iguodala Key Player 2: Arenas Key Player 3: Aldridge
Looking to trade away: Arenas, Swift, Miles Looking to trade for: Big Men with Good Defense, Rebounding, and Expiring Contracts.
I promise that if given the opportunity to participate in this league, I’ll be both responsible and devoted.
I look forward to hearing back!
Hernando

My vote, for what it is worth, would be for Garf. More available to chat online on a regular basis. I think Garf has a superior knowledge of the league already talking about contracts and checking the teams stats as to what to improve. Seems east coast is more obsessed about playing against the celts as he is for running the 76ers. Also I am not sure eastcoast migt not be a jeremy repeat as he just said he is starting a new job, availbility issues again.

Hey krump, Yes I am starting a new job, but I will be sitting in front of a computer for 8-9 hours per day. I can't chat during that time, but I can check/respond to PM's and Emails all day, and will. How is a highschool student going to be around more than me, with class all day? As for knowledge of the league, I have some too. I looked at contracts. The other guys wants to rebuild, I want to try to win now, and if not, rebuild next year. No way do I send Arenas or Swift off just yet (unless the offer is good). They are aging, but not to the point of deteriorating in ratings. Both, especially Arenas, should be good for a while. I've already got a couple of offers down on paper that I'd like to make if given this team. I checked the stats, just didn't quote them. Why do you think my emphasis is on defense? Cause the 76er's weren't very good there last year. Don't write me off b/c I can't chat during the day. Either can the other guy. I'll be around, and available to chat during evenings. Hopefully I'll get the chance to prove this.

In just about 2 weeks, I'm going to be a 2nd semester senior... I don't know if all of you guys remember senior year, but 2nd semester senior year=no responsibilities at all. I'll be home, online, from around 3pm-2am every night.
I hope my extensive introduction post above illustrates my desire to be the new GM of the 76ers. If any of you have any questions for me, please feel free to IM me or PM me. My AIM is Garf2000.

Yeah, these two guys both deserve spots. My vote is that the next two available teams go to them, so I don't care who gets Philly. Doesn't mean anyone should be fired, though.

Garf is the new Philly GM. Aaron let him know ASAP. I wanted to make a quick selection since the Sizers pick soon.
ECB, I think youll get the next team if youre still interested when team opens up.
