(1) - New Orleans Hornets - Still tops in the League. Three 20ppg scorers and good interior defense will do that.
(8) - Cleveland Cavaliers - Movin on up. Excellent interior play and arguably the best 3pt shooting team in the league.
(2) - Milwaukee Bucks - Only team in the league to hold opposing teams under 100ppg. Clearly defense does win games.
(3) - Toronto Raptors - After making some big changes, team is starting to gel. Duncan is playing great heading towards the playoffs.
(7) - New York Knicks - Continue to lead the league in scoring, by a fair margin. Kidd and Big Ben also give the team a tough defensive presence.
(4) - Chicago Bulls - Rely on Baron and Jrich to lead the way, which isn't a bad thing. Tough at home but struggle on the road where they are 17-22.
(16) - Orlando Magic - Huge jump in the rankings thanks to the KG acquisition. Only 5-5 over their last 10 but will be scary come playoff time.
(5) - Minnesota Timberwolves - Tops in the West, as usual. Continue to be a stellar defensive team, allowing just over 100ppg. The question is can they score enough to win it all?
(6) - Detroit Pistons - He's back. But only 3-3 since the return of JO. Not to worry, things will pick up. We promise.
(9) - Golden State Warriors - Battling the Wolves for best in the West. Shakur and Milicic continue to impress.
(12) - San Antonio Spurs - Current 3rd seed in the West with lottery type talent. Can you say Coach of the Year?
(13) - Houston Rockets - So So year so far in Houston. Team with some serious talent but average results. Still a threat when the playoffs role around.
(10) - Utah Jazz - Another team with good talent and subpar results. But luckily they are in the West, where mediocrity is the rage.
(15) - Atlanta Hawks - Talented team that plays in the Division of Death. A youth movement has them looking toward the future.
(14) - Miami Heat - Will not make the playoffs but their time isn't too far off. Great collection of young talent.
(18) - Indiana Pacers - Went for it and came up short. Tmac and Brand wasn't enough to get them into the promised land. Will be interesting to see what that duo can do together over the course of a full season.
(19) - Denver Nuggets - Improving down the stretch. A team with scoring and interior presence. Not sure we'd want to face them in a 7 game series.
(22) - Portland Trailblazers - KG is gone, but the team still has a great shot at making the playoffs. Hanging onto last seed in the West.
(17) - Phoenix Suns - Under performed this season but still in the playoff mix. Will recent moves pay off? Maybe not now, but they've acquired some nice pieces for beyond this season.
(11) - Washington Wizards - Pourous defense that allowed over 109ppg. A team that can score but lacks an identity.
(25) - Los Angeles Clippers - Fighting for their playoff lives. A team that lacks scoring punch. Isiah is ROY.
(24) - New Jersey Nets - A team looking to the future. May be looking to the distant future since they're in the East. Still, they have some nice pieces to build around.
(21) - Seattle Supersonics - Lebron is really lighting it up in the second half but it may be for naught. Still have a shot at the playoffs but they will need help.
(20) - Los Angeles Lakers - A team that clearly isn't concerned with this season. Free agency and the draft can't arrive soon enough.
(28) - Philadelphia 76ers - Another tough year in Philly. They have talent but can't seem to put things together. Another offseason should bring new hope, but unfortunately for Philly, their not in the West.
(29) - Memphis Grizzlies - A team that doesn't get to the line or rebound the ball. Considering they are average in all other facets, not surprising they are where they are.
(23) - Dallas Mavericks - The Diesel can't be too happy in big D. Will regret dealing Aguirre. We still like Nance.
(26) - Sacramento Kings - Hoping to hit it big in the lottery.
(27) - Boston Celtics - Hoping for a good free agent pool.
