Me, my chick (loved bball), and my buddies were all talking about if you can pick a team today who would you choose. This isn't for the future and you have to pick players based on having them play together, not the best player at each position. Here's what we came up with...
marco....bibby, ai, lebron, kg, benny
palmerio....nash, AI, lebron, kg, duncan
AJ.....ai, lebron, marion, amare, duncan
aaron.....billups, kobe, lebron, kg, benny
katie......billups, ai, marion, benny, duncan
krupimpski.....nash, allen, ak47, brand, duncan
I figure we have some great bball minds and I'm interested to hear what you guys would choose.

As far as compiling the best unit, not the most talented, but the guys who can always win, I'd go:
Steve Nash, Dwayne Wade, Andrei Kirilenko, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan
I would say AK is interchangeable with Ron Artest or Shawn Marion on this unit., but gets the edge for his length, which isn't just beneficial defensively, but also on the fastbreak, too. All are premiere defenders who would be fine with limited roles offensively. LeBron doesn't make it for me because if you play alongside Nash, you're not going to control the ball for long periods of the shotclock. Really, though, I just prefer Wade here; put in LeBron and they wouldn't suffer a bit. KG and Duncan upfront are dominant defensively, have great range, and would look great finishing on some lobs from Nash.
I like Krumpimpski's pick of Allen, almost went with him because shooters thrive with Nash on the court.

yea, i like Krupimpski's too....team wise that is...
I don't like the Nash pick from everyone though...I just think he's too weak on defense. Obviously he brings great offense but not enough to cover up his defense.

I guess I'm a bit of a homer with Billups...but all defensive team...17/8.5 a game
My original pick was Kidd but after going to the Jersey/Detroit game and seeing how much Billups dominated him I had to change it.
Can't go wrong with any of those guys though.
