You can offer anyone you had last year to a contract anywhere up to 120% of their last contract. You dont need to offer a MIN, or LLE or MLE if youre over the cap. This can be a very helpful tool in building a team, but it seems most GMs dont know this.

Its just frustrating to see guys still not understand the rules of the league, and the NBA. I apologize to all of those that know the rules, I feel its my responsibility to enlighten those GMs that dont know.

I understand your frustration but rules revolving around MLE's, LLE's and stuff of a similar genre are not preached much so therefore the common fan might have no idea what is going on. With this said it should be the GM's responsibility to accustom himself with the rules of the league and you shouldn't feel responsible for GM's mistakes which revolve around things that you have stated probaly a couple times during the duration of this board. In other words Spence it s not your fault

Tips....
MLE
You can sign a guy to the MLE one year, then start him at 5.4 the next. You can ither do 1 yr at 5.4, or make it the first year of a multi year deal. You can also offer anything up to 5.4 and it works.
LLE
Same thing applies, although its a lower contract total, so its less likely to work.
Expiring Contracts
You can also offer 120% of any players that have recently expired contracts. A
All of this is without regard to your cap position.
