- Kobe Bryant (DET) - Kobe is leading the league in scoring and playing the all around game we've come to expect from him. Extremely efficient and highly motivated now that running mate Jermaine O'Neal is out for awhile.
- Magic Johnson (MIL) - Leading the charge in Milwaukee, Magic can be seen dishing out dimes, hitting big shots and doing pretty much anything and everything there is to do on a basketball court. Crazy efficient for a wing.
- Tim Duncan (SAC) - Timmy D is still getting it done at the ripe age of 34. The only thing missing from his game right now are the wins.
- Kevin Garnett (POR) - Is age starting to catch up to the Big Ticket? After years of absolute domination and undisputed positioning at the top of this list, KG drops a notch. All good things come to an end, or so they say. He's still filling the stat sheet but not like in previous years and as a side effect his team isn't winning.
- Derrick Caracter (MIA) - This 300 pounder is starting to make a name for himself. Scoring and rebounding with the best of them and he's only 22.
- Shannon Brown (NJ) - New Jersey is still rebuilding and may have found a major building block. Leads the league in assists and averages 24ppg on 48% shooting.
- LeBron James (SEA) - Stat stuffer that finds himself in a rebuilding situation. An amazing talent that just doesn't dominate like many think he should. Still more to come?
- Tracy McGrady (IND) - Finds himself in new surroundings these days. If he can gel with his new team mates there will be good things ahead in Indy.
- Carmelo Anthony (WAS) - Production has dropped of some from last season but still elite. Excellent rebounder and also unselfish.
- Elton Brand (TOR) - Quietly goes about his business. Among leaders in scoring and shotblocking. Shoots 50% from the field.
- Darko Milicic (GST) - A legit franchise talent that scores, rebounds and defends.
- Mustafa Shakur (GST) - Tied for the lead in assists per game. Shooting outstanding percentages from the field and especially from behing the arc.
- Dwyane Wade (ORL) - Part of the dynamic duo in Orlando. Always among league leaders in steals. Efficient and consistent.
- Larry Bird (ORL) - The other half of Orlando's dynamic duo. Like Wade, Bird contributes across the board. But even with these two studs the Magic find themselves under .500.
- Shaun Livingston (NO) - Among leaders in steals per game, Livingston combines lockdown defense with an adept scoring touch and excellent court vision.
- Gilbert Arenas (PHI) - Playing some nice ball in Philly. Must be the cheesesteaks.
- Isiah Thomas (LAC) - A rook with a veteran presence. Outstanding first year so far. Among leaders in assists per game and shooting just under 50% overall. Definitely someone to build a team around.
- Baron Davis (CHI) - Player of the Month 3 straight months and he's only #18 on this list. Just goes to show how much talent there is in the league right now. That and we don't conform to popular opinion.
- Monta Ellis (NYK) - Scoring slightly down this season as he has more pieces around him. Still one of the better shooters in the league and automatic from the stripe.
- Jason Richardson (CHI) - Managing to play some great ball in a crowded backcourt. Showing he isn't just a dunker anymore. JRich is shooting above 40% from behind the arc and is very solid at the free throw line.
Honorable mention - Jermaine O'Neal (DET) - Jermaine would be in the top 10 and probably top 5 if it weren't for a bad case of patella tendinitis. Hang in there JO!
