- Toronto Raptors - Best record in the League and only team with a winning % over .700. This coming while playing in the toughest division.
- Milwaukee Bucks - Phenomenal start to the season. Like the Raps, they are winning while playing in the best division in basketball. Contributions are coming from everyone.
- New Orleans Hornets - Great starting lineup that is coming together early in the season.
- Chicago Bulls - A nice combination of youthful exuberance and veteran leadership. Competitive as usual.
- Cleveland Cavaliers - Another Central division team that is winning alot more than they are losing, go figure. A new system seems to have ignited a 9 game winning streak.
- Golden State Warriors - Finally, a non-Central division team. Warriors are the best in the West at this point in the season. Darko Milicic has become a superstar.
- Minnesota Timberwolves - Balanced team that finds ways to win even with sub standard play from Ak47.
- Detroit Pistons - Two painful words, patella tendinitis. Even without Jermaine O'Neal this team is still in the playoff mix.
- Houston Rockets - Solid team going with a center by committee approach. Alright for the regular season but someone has to emerge come playoff time.
- New York Knicks - Tops in the Atlantic. A veteran team whose window is closing. Could this be the year?
- San Antonio Spurs - Managing to compete while in rebuild mode. Impressive, especially considering Billups is out with a bout of depression. Come on Chauncey, the situation in San Antonio isn't nearly as bad as we thought it was.
- Indiana Pacers - Young team managing to compete with the big boys.
- Miami Heat - Good young team that will get better with experience. Future looks bright.
- Utah Jazz - A veteran bunch that should be a playoff team. We think they are better than they've shown to this point. Perhaps a new philosophy is in order?
- Atlanta Hawks - In any other division this team is above .500.
- Los Angeles Lakers - A team in constant change. Managing to compete in the weak western conference.
- Orlando Magic - Playing below expectations and ability. Giving up a ton of points.
- Washington Wizards - Carmelo has come back to Earth and AI is on the downswing. Still have a shot at the playoffs.
- Sacramento Kings - Redd almost reddy. If this team can gel, they will win some games. Duncan is playing his best ball in years.
- New Jersey Nets - Shannon Brown looks great. Young team that wishes they were out West.
- Phoenix Suns - A team we thought would be in the playoff picture and they are. More turnovers than a bakery. Yea, we're very original.
- Seattle Supersonics - Went with a youth movement. Luckily for them, they're in the West. Can they hang on?
- Denver Nuggets - A team on the outside looking in. They have talent but can they put it all together and make a run at the postseason?
- Los Angeles Clippers - Zeke is injured. Telfair is good, but he isn't Zeke. A team with little depth.
- Memphis Grizzlies - They're scoring but also getting scored upon. Probably better than they've shown.
- Boston Celtics - A team looking to the future. Sad thing is they'd have a shot at the playoffs in the West. Sad for the Western conference that is.
- Dallas Mavericks - Haven't turned the corner yet but we like they're future. What we don't like is that contract they gave to AI wannabe Nolan Smith.
- Philadelphia 76ers - As usual, a team with talent that can't make it work. Time to rebuild?
- Portland Trailblazers - We're not sure what's going on in Portland but whatever it is KG can't like it.
