From first being the GM of the worst franchise in the history of the NBA, to now being the GM of the greatest franchise in the NBA, I feel very privledge to have another shot at this. I'm looking to bring the Celtics glory in the NBA to the BBS.
First and formost I wanted to give the team an idenity. The first thing I noticed is the team has no idenity or direction. When I was filling out the team overview I couldn't fill out half of it. I didn't feel like I had a franchise player nor did I see any strengths. I didn't know what type of team this was. So I decided to go after shooters and defenders. No in between all around players ala Lamar Odom. [Nothing against Odom.]
So I got a franchise player, and then started to get the shooting I am after.
My first transaction was trading with the Cavaliers. I sent Kwame Brown, JR Smith, and Kedrick Brown for Andris Biedrins, Corrliss Williamson, and Tyrone Lue. I feel that Andris Biedrins is a player I can build around. That is why I traded two talents in Kwame Brown and JR Smith for home.
The second transaction was making a deal with Indiana. I sent out Marcus Fizer and Troy Bell, bench players, for Nickoloz Tskitishvili and Dantahay Jones. I see Nickoloz as being a starter, in fact I am having him and Bender start at the 2-3. Two 7 footers at those position is a advantage this team has. That is something I wanted to do, get this team some strengths.
The third transaction was firering Head Coach Eric Musselumen and hiring Bill Russell. Bill Russell gives the team an indenity. That was something I wanted to do. Give the team an idenity.
Now what I need to do is a get a point guard and a center. I want a good shooter to play point guard and I have my eyes set on a couple of players. As for the center i'd like to get a tough defender to play a similar role to how Sammuel Dalembert plays for the Clippers, rebounder and shot blocker. Although I may wait for the draft to find that C or Free Agency, if any.
Also, I signed Richie Frahm. A shooter at the shooting guard so I like him. Just a spare part. Nothing special.
I feel like the transactions made are in the direction I wanna go. And now I just wanna keep on plugging away until I get a team I like for the future, because thats when I vision this team going to glory, the future.
