Herb Williams was projected to be the number ten overall pick but the Detroit Pistons selected him with the eighth overall pick. "We saw something in Herb that no other player could match," General Manager Krupimpski stated. That something that they was Herb's heart and desire to win. Herb is rated 99 in Loyalty and 99 in his desire to play for a winner. That's the type of player the Pistons' organization loves. Herb has worked hard since day one and has improved his game tremendously. His inside scoring, hands, defense, and rebounding have all improved and keep on getting better. Herb will allow fellow team mate Jermaine O'Neal to move back to his natural position of power forward. Also Darrell Arthur will be a better option off the bench then he was in the starting lineup last season. Herb pulled down 11 boards a game and denied opponents over two shots a game in limited action. Herb could be the steal of the draft and could be the difference this season in bringing the crown back to the palace.
