simply put I think there should be a rule that says you must put out the DC that you think gives your team the best chance to win.
The one exception i can think of is say your 10 games up on the #1 seed with 9 games left...go ahead and rest your starters so they don't get hurt.
i'm sure 95% of people will agree with this.

I don't.
My goal in this is to have fun first of all, secondly it is to win a championship. Not just games, not just make the playoffs but I want to win the whole thing. Right now with my hopes for the playoffs not to good I am trying to get some diffrent players on my team to see what they can do, that is why I signed Gerry M and Loren Woods.
I guess I just don't see the point in not tanking it if you are far out of the playoffs, you might as well go for a good draft pick because getting the 10th pick won't help you nearly as much as say the 3rd or 4th.

Now would starting players with great potential instead of "proven" players so they can develop even though you don't have a chance in making the playoffs, is that tanking? I personally think its smart GMing, because you get a better pick and you develop your future. Losing games may just be the negative of developing players, but that doesn't necessarily mean tanking

fyi, in fbb there is no connection between playing time and developing a player. If you start the rookie he will get no better than if he didn't play a minute.

No but it does give you a chance to see what he can do. You can't really see how far away from there full potentiol [depending on there potentiol of course.] if they are if they are playing a back up role or if they nothing but a "Human Victory Cigar".

i'm not saying if they are close. but if you have a 28 year old PF with ratings of say B C- C- A B and a 19 year old pf with ratings of C+ D+ D+ B- B- A you better start the 28 year old. and no starting PG's at C or C's at PG and so on.
