I didnt have much time... sorry
1. Detroit Pistons 17-5 (Miller, O’neal, Odom, Hamilton, Banks)
Should I have ever doubted them? The sounds of English class reverberate in my head, “If you are a non-conformist, the world whips you with its displeasure” or something like that. I guess I should have done the traditional rankings instead of being a non-conformist and take Detroit out of top 4. No single Piston is putting up stellar numbers, yet everyone is contributing and that has been the staple of the team in the past years. Jermaine is having arguably the best season as a pro, and it’s paying him back in the win column. Acquiring Jamal Crawford completes a perfect three guard rotation that is tough to stop when accompanied with the big men inside. Champions?
2. Chicago Bulls 15-7 (Curry, Okafor, McGrady, James, Davis)
Da’ Bulls started out with the typical red hot start, but haven’t but the after burners on as of late. They are 5-5 in the last 10, but once the team gels with newly acquired point B-Diddy they will start winning. This trade may benefit them this year, but towards the future it doesn’t seem to be that smart of a move. Baron, Lebron, and McGrady will create some stellar mismatches and allow easy baskets for Eddie Curry and Okafor. This team could go deep into the playoffs and possibly add to the six total rings their players have cumulatively.
3. Los Angeles Lakers 13-7 (O’neal, Wallace, Deng, Iverson, Miller)
They came out of the gate storming going something like 8-0 just as I predicted haha… They cooled off a lot going 4-6 in their last 10, yet sill will be a force to be reckoned with out West. Shaquille and AI will start hitting on all cylinders and combine to be the best duo in the league towards the end of the season. I think they will start to break from the pack after All Star break. Kevin Love really stepped it up off the bench, and provided some relief for Sheed and Shaq who are getting up there in the age department.
4. Dallas Mavericks 16-8 (Camby, Walker, Richardson, Carter, Nash)
The run and gun game may be this teams niche after desperately trying to find it for the past couple years averaging just 38 wins a season. This team surprisingly only has one new starter from last year, yet some how has molded together to become a contendor. Nash and Carter are having another dominant year together scoring 40+ points along with 12+ assists a game. They seem like they know how to win in tight games considering they are 5-0 when games are concluded within five points. They may decline slightly in the future, but they could be a top team in the west for quite some time.
