Heres a look at the offseason FA class.
Not a lot of super players, but some very solid role type players, and a couple youngsters that could be special....
Centers....
Brandan Wright...Definately the prize of the FA class. Already a super defender, and hes very young. Expect the Heat to go after him strong to get him back in the fold.
Brian Zoubek...Virtually wasted 3rd year in orlando, could be a solid pickup for a team in need of a young rebounding center. Still has some upside, so would be a good pickup as a MLE player.
Andrew Bogut...Had a good year in LA. Definately more of a 3rd big man then a legit starter, but still a solid pickup for someone.
Chris Wilcox...Probably more of a PF, but can play either 4 or 5. Solid offense and rebounding should get a MLE offer, or re up with Utah for the MLE plus 10%.
Chris Andersen...One of my personal favorites because of his shot blocking prowess. Averaged closed to 2 blocks per game in 20 mnutes.
Power Forwards.....
Richard Hendrix...Listed as a SF but should probably be moved to PF. Lots of talent, and still very young. Probably the 2nd best FA in the class behind Wright.
Troy Murphy...Very solid player. Will get you 10 and 10 every night.
Kris Humphries...Solid young player that hasnt had an opportunity to log significant minutes. Could be a 14 and 8 guy in the right situation.
Mike Sweetney...That he makes the list at all tells you there arent alot of PF's in this FA class.
Jason Fraser...Read above.
Small Forwards.....
Kevin Durant...3rd best player available, after Wright and Hendrix. B B scoring ratings is very nice, especially for a youngster. Good handling skils, and the length to be an elite defender. He could be very special.
Manu Ginobili...Solid vet may be had for the MLE. To get a starter of this quality for the MLE is very nice.
Caron Butler...Wasted away as a non option for Washington this year. He could put up 15 to 18 points on the right team.
Yi Jianlin...Lots of talent, but little production or defense. Someone will take a chance on him.
Tasmin Mitchell...Solid youngster, although will never be a star. More of a 3rd forward.
Shooting Guards.....
Hedo Turkoglu...The best veteran in the FA class. He has become a scoring machine in San Antonios run and gun offense. Should get alot of cash somewhere.
Dajuan Wagner...Good scorer who has proved to be a very good scorer during his stay with the Clipps.
Nolan Smith...Impressive youngster with lots of upside. Could be a very good combo guard.
Ronald Murray...Solid vet, who can add scoring punch off the bench.
Mike Mercer...Another solid youngster who can handle the ball and shoot. Would be a nice MLE pickup for a team looking to lock him up long term next year.
Point Guards.....
Ron Steele...Best young PG available. Not the best scorer, but a pure distributor and defender.
Steve Nash...Will decline soon, but probably has the ability to start for 1 or 2 more years. Super shooter and passer.
Jamaal Tinsley..Ideal PG for a slower pace team. Cant score much, but will defend and distribute.
DJ Augustin...Youngster with some upside, hasnt had a chance to play much in his career.
Jerryd Bayless...Not the best handling skills....yet. Has some good upside and the ability to develop into a good scorer.
