This is by far the best idea of come up with for BBS in quite some time. After the 2007 draft I will make each draft after that a retro draft. So the 2008 draft will be a combination of the 78-79 drafts, the 09 draft will be 80-81 and so on. This will give bad teams a chance to be competitive very quickly, with players like Magic Bird McHale and eventually MJ and Barkely and Olajuwon. It will definately allow for bad teams to get better faster. I also want to wait to 1008 because no one has traded those picks yet.
Any feedback or help with those draft files would be appreciated

I think this is a great idea! I'm not excited about going straight sim, but if it's for the good of the league, I'm behind it. BUT, going sim and eventually retro is huge! I'm all in... I can't wait to start Run TMC!

I love it...
Think its a pretty good idea...
Perhaps have 1 round drafts....1st round for rookies and second round for retros
Just a thought

well, if it promotes activity then its all good I guess. heres the real question though, are players who come out going to be more ready to contribute than say the top 2 picks in this draft, howard and okafor? cuz the only real question I have with this is what happens if...john salley becomes the next Patrick Ewing or something? What if Bird doesnt develop and turns into the same thing as...Christian Laettner? That'd be kinda weird...basically, is there any way to keep the retro draft players to perform at thier NBA levels, or is it just gonna be whatever it turns out to be, like a natural sim?

Just curious SDOG, are the same people who don't need a GM check-in the same people who can't take 10 seconds to voice their opinion on this matter? ;D

I think the league is doing well. I think leagues that fail are leagues that have mandatory weekly check ins that become annoying. We know who is inactive, we know doesnt participate. I dont think we need a mandatory anything.
Secondly, this is a slow time. There is absolutely no real NBA news. College and pro football are starting up, and the baseball playoff races are on. I cant expect people to be trying to trade for a 2007 1st. It just isnt realistic. The league has died down, but it will be fine.
