Ive been seriously contemplating changing the focus of the sim to a true sim. as you all know now we use NBA potential to change ratings. I really think to survive we need to become a full sim league. The pace of the league is ok for some, but boring for others. A faster league will create interest in all franchises, instead off those competing for playoff spots.
I am gonna start on re working the Potential grades so they are NBA realistic, meaning A potential are guys with really good NBA potential growth, B is for guys with good NBA growth and C being guys that are topped out. I think this is a fair way to start the real sim.
Progress of players as of next training camp would be controlled by the comp, not by us. This would basically disable the scouting section of our game, but I think it would create more activity from poor clubs.
The season would be a little faster also. Id probably do 10 days a week, which means a season would be 3-4 months.
I will still try my best to create a real NBA draft file every year, but your help would be appreciated.
Any feedback would be welcomed.

Yes this is a very good change, I love it a lot. But one thing i still think the season should go by faster maybe 15-20 days a week? A season will still last 2 months or so. I also think there needs to be a GM-Check In, because i think there are a couple of inactive gms out there and we should look to replacing them. Thank you

I agree with the GM check in, but I think that if we keep the pace slow then we should keep the potential NBA based as much as possible. If a season were to take 2 months then it wouldn't be possible obviously so then it sounds fine to me. Either way it is great by me I somewhat prefer the offseason things as opposed to checking box scores once a week or so but I'm happy either way.

The fact that we would be going to a true sim would be the NBA potential aspect would be done. Thats the price wed pay. I think ideally NBA potential is the way to go, but its just too slow.

I agree that it moves a bit too slow and would like to move away from the basing everything on NBA stats, as Spencer said, a true sim. Good idea, I think.

I am one of the few who probably prefers the way it is now, however if the majority wants it to become a "sim" and it would mean increased activity id be all for it.

I think we have great GM's and I think this sim could be prolific, as far as years we sim. I think this is a needed step to keep this sim league good.

Idea...
If you're going to change up the player focus maybe it would be a good idea to start fresh altogether. It would create more activity, especially from the newer GM's. Overall I think the level of Gm'ing in the league has improved so it would be interesting to see what everyone can do starting out with some decent talent. I think increased competition would be a good thing for the league.

I think this would be the best thing for the newer GM's, but it would also be more work for me. Id need to find or develop a new roster file, which would be a pain. If we did start over Id want to use real NBA salaries which would prevent teams stacking up lots of stars, and it would be a draft, not real NBA rosters.

It gets ridiculous sometimes when you got made up players in the league, eventually, we may come up to that point if we sim to fast. Though, I'm willing to go with whatever the majority votes for.

I wish we could have gone with real salaries the first time around but better late than never. If this does happen, I'm willing to lend a hand with whatever I can to help out.

I also and with Tom and like it the old way, yes the league could go faster but at the same time will slow down dealing if we go to fast, I dont know about starting over alot of the 1st gms are very busy these days and have done so much work. But as you guys know me I am for whatever happens Ill have your back and will help with whatever is needed. For you gms that say the sim is to slow try to to liven it up more by maybe working some deals or something, you know keeping it running and alive well I out.

Though, I'm willing to go with whatever the majority votes for. If we do speed up theres not going to be many made up players. Theres league out there that have 10 sims in a whole season and then their done with the reg season and go onto playoffs etc. They still dont have made up players though. Look at the NBN for example bballsims.com/nbn/ their in their 14th season and have barely any made up players
